Dear Colleagues in Catholic Education,
Please find the first edition of the ‘Witness to the Word’ for the summer term which includes details of our Summer Term CPD programme.
We are looking forward to our next Leadership Update Meeting which take place on Tuesday 7th May at 10:30am. Please remember that due to the Bank Holiday on Monday 6th May, there will only be one session available this time and please remember to register in advance.
We are looking forward to facilitating our Conference for Deputy Headteacher’s in Oxford on Thursday and Friday this week and I would like to express our thanks for enabling these senior staff to be released to assist with their own profession development and formation.
And finally, I am delighted to share with you the news that Pope Francis has appointed Mgr. James Curry as an Auxiliary Bishop for the Diocese of Westminster. His Eminence, Cardinal Vincent Nichols released the following statement upon the news:
“I express my warmest thanks to Pope Francis for the appointment of Mgr. James Curry as an Auxiliary Bishop for service in this Diocese. His appointment, I am sure, will be widely welcomed. I welcome it myself, with gratitude to him for his generous response. He brings to this role a long experience of life in the Diocese and the pastoral wisdom of many years of priestly ministry. Please keep Bishop-elect Curry in your prayers. Appointment as a bishop is a call to service in a new and demanding way. Let us accompany him with our prayers as he prepares for his Episcopal Ordination.”
